September 10, 2010 What I'm Reading Now: The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini What I've Read: I chose this book because Ana Flores and Susan Davis recommended it to me. What I'm Thinking About: I'm not really a reader. But Ana said that this book was really good. And it wasn't just her Bryan also said that it was a really good book and he told me to read A Thousand Splendid Sun's by Khaled Hosseini which he said is a continuation kind of of The Kite Runner. So I think that will be the next book I read.
September 17, 2010 What I'm Reading Now:The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini What I've Read: I have read the first 3 chapters. What I'm Thinking About: It's hard to find time to read but I'm trying really hard. I haven't read much because I've been swamped with school work but over the week end I'm going to try to get ahead on my homework so that during the week i have more time to read. Well so far the book is ok. It hasn't gotten to anything like wow. But by the looks of it and what I've heard is something is going to happen. So I'm excited.

What I'm Thinking About: I wouldn't know but I can imagine that i's very hard to live without a mother. Especially because Amir's dad, or Baba like he calls him, isn't the emotional type. He's a very manly man. He gets mad at his son for staying inside and reading books. Why can't he just accept his son for who he is? Some guys are just more in touch with their feminine side.

What I'm Thinking About: The thing that's in my head is that I'm not gong to finish the book by the end of the quarter. I picked a pretty long book. But we'll see. Well this book is becoming more interesting to me. I'm understanding the relationship between Baba and Ali. What I want to know is, why is Baba so quiet? Why doesn't he tell Amir anything about himself? Ali has to tell him. Baba needs to open up himself to bring his relationship closer with his son. Then maybe Amir will be more like his dad. Good book!
October 8, 2010 What I'm Reading Now:The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini What I've Read: I have read up to chapter 12. What I'm Thinking About: Wow! The book is crazy. I know i didn't talk about this earlier but I wanted to wait for the next one because I wanted to ask questions on the last one. I think that its great that Amir and Hassan win the kite competiton. But what happens next is really sad and disturbing. How can kids his own age just rape him like nothing? Was it that crazy that Amir and Hassan were friends and even though Amir was of higher status then Hassan? There are so many dumb people in the world. When I read the part of him getting raped, I was mad! I still am. I just want to finish the book already because it is so good. And Ana keeps telling me that the ending is really good. So my plan this long weekend is to finish my book. I will update immediately when I do.
